My Name is Saif Al Mazrouei, I joined Abu Dhabi Ports Group (AD Ports) in 2019 as Ports EVP and Currently I am the Chief Executive Officer– Ports Cluster. Since joining AD Ports I relentlessly worked with my team to achieve AD Ports strategic directions:
- Continue past trajectory of growth linked to Abu Dhabi Economy.
- Expand Khalifa Port and defend Market Leadership at Mina Zayed.
- Integrate and manage a global portfolio of ports to position Abu Dhabi as a frontier of global trade, by managing world-class, multi-propose, ports infrastructure.
- Driving operational excellence by leveraging digital technologies.
- Meeting stakeholder’s needs, forging relationships and maximizing shareholder value.
With this mission in mind, I successfully identified expansion projects in line with the Ports Cluster’s Strategy. Ports Cluster played a vital and role in expanding the geographical footprint outside UAE in alignment with AD Ports Strategy by collaboration with Ports Authorities globally (i.e. Egypt, Indonesia, Libya, Iraq, Jordan–Aqaba, Bahrain, Turkey, KSA, Malaysia, and others.) Achieved and maintained successful strategic concessions, a few of which are with:
- COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited to build a new container terminal at Khalifa Port.
- MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company to establish new container terminal at Khalifa Port.
- Long term agreement SAIPEM to establish a dedicated logistic base serving oil and gas offshore services in Khalifa Port.
- 35-year concession agreement with CMA CGM Group for a new terminal at Khalifa Port.
- Strategic agreement with Arabian Chemical Terminals-ACT to build first commercial bulk liquid storage terminal in Khalifa Port.
- Joint Venture with Autoterminal Barcelona to create Autoterminal Khalifa Port.
Implemented various strategic development projects in line with our strategy to develop AD Ports into an integrated premier enabler of trade, industrialization, and economic diversification.
- Khalifa Port Expansion Project: executed to attract new business and significantly boost capacity in line with evolving customer expectations. The project substantially increased handling volumes by providing additional deep-water access and enhanced infrastructure.
- Commercial Bulk Liquid and Gas Storage Terminal – Khalifa Port: this terminal is an essential capability and key growth accelerator for AD Ports and meets the growing needs for liquid storage by centralizing storage options into 1 or 2 concentrated terminal facilities.
Now we are marching to expand globally, we’ve:

- Signed a Heads of Terms agreement with Aqaba Development Corporation (Jordan) to establish a cruise terminal in Aqaba.
