Nomination Title: ANANKE IoT Services (Private) Limited Company

Founded in June 2019, ANANKE IoT Services (Private) Limited is a Sri Lankan startup working towards the 4th Industrial Revolution and turning Sri Lanka into an advanced technological hub by 2025 with innovative IoT Solutions and Services. ANANKE serves as the foundation upon which several customized IoT solutions are built for a wide range of industries.

Our company has built a range of innovative products. ANANKE is our modular platform to build IoT solutions which is a highly complex product with an inbuilt Machine learning library, a connection protocol that is used for device diagnostics, a communication protocol library and our very own library, named 'ANANKE PRO' which can be used by the developers to do device routing without writing a single line of code.

We observed that a lot of companies are developing IoT solutions by spending much time and money. However, the basic systems are common for most solutions. Also, there was no market space to connect customers with IoT applications, although there are platforms for mobile applications. This is where ANANKE fits in as a unique solution connecting both hardware and software domains, with internal developments on top of this platform.

After realizing the potential of our solution, we expanded it to foreign clients, starting from Japan. Our solutions and the technology-driven culture was a great match to Japanese organizations and we are now able to work on different successful projects with Japan. We have also expanded our operations to the UK by targeting the European market including our participation at MWC as a team.

In 2020, after a thorough round of R&D, we introduced ANANKE IoTea as an experimental product to the Ceylon Tea industry and by 2021 January it has successfully gained traction in the commercial market with revenue-generating customers and device installations happening every month.

We also drew our focus on waste management and in mid of 2020, by showcasing the competitiveness and credibility of ANANKE, we won the island-wide project, PET Bins Monitoring Platform. In partnership with Solidaridad Network Asia GA3451, Regional Economic Development Agency, Coca Cola and SLT MOBITEL, ANANKE is being used to build an island-wide network of PET smart recycling bins based supply chain operation. This is a modern IoT project, to sustain the circularity of PET Packaging Waste in the Central, Uva and North-Western Provinces of Sri Lanka as a give-back life initiative.

ANANKE also won several recognitions and awards at Oslo Innovation Week Accelerate 2020, e-Swabhimani Awards 2020 organized by ICTA and Ministry of Technology and at SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards 2021. We are also a listed revenue-generating startup under Startup SL.

ANANKE IoT Platform, the heart of all our software and hardware solutions, contains a complete set of integrated development tools and capabilities making it easy to develop powerful enterprise IoT solutions which are cost-effective for both manufacturer and the user. The competitiveness of the product lies in its key features; Real-time Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Storage, Easy Application Building and Deployment, Multi-protocol Connectivity, Integration with Business Systems through bridging libraries and End-to-end Security. It can include any number of custom ports to input data and works for Wi-Fi/ NB-IoT/ GSM modules. With our expertise, from the early days we were able to be on board a renowned company specialized in IoT solutions and a member of a regional conglomerate on ANANKE.

For ANANKE IoTea (Tea withering process monitoring system), a couple of Down-South Tea giants in Sri Lanka opted to support our product from its prototype stage as it showed promising results in the tea withering process, increasing the efficiency by 25%. Our simple yet effective solution is implementable to all the troughs inside a factory, semi-automating the process with much lesser labour requirement and energy consumption than previous.

ANANKE Smart Bins is the first large scale NB-IoT enabled hardware project in Sri Lanka. Smart bins fixed with solar-powered sensors were deployed to notify the local authorities to collect the garbage on time. Currently, with this recommendation and trust built towards us, we are collaborating with UK organizations for sustainability-focused innovations built on ANANKE.
