BMO’s Fixed Income Currency & Commodities (FICC) Strategy group had a long history of disseminating newsletters and written reports through conventional email and wanted to expand their subscriber base and global reach in a highly competitive space where clients typically subscribe to very few sources for this type of information. BMO launched Macro Horizons podcast to differentiate and grow awareness for BMO FICC Strategy in the debt market. We wanted to expand our reach and further establish our top ranked Strategists, so Views from the North and Global Exchanges were launched creating a full suite of FICC podcasts. Building off the existing FICC newsletter subscriber base the strategy was and is to offer up insights in another medium while positioning our FICC strategists as leading experts. Taking advantage of Macro Horizons’ success, we bundled our FICC podcasts together on one webpage, bmocm.com/ficcpodcasts, to piggy-back off the existing Macro Horizons listenership and traffic. We continued to plan and seek out opportunities for promotion including campaigns, speaking engagements, and events. Episodes are cross-promoted to the FICC strategy website, bmocm.com as well as directly to the existing FICC insight subscriber base through targeted emails and newsletters from FICC strategists.
