The group currently manages 27 spa hotels across the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and the UK, and has the widest collection of spa hotels located in Europe’s most historic spa towns – renowned for their natural healing resources and restorative properties. Ensana has developed a unique innovative integrative health concept, which combines healing natural resources with medical expertise and modern diagnostic methods to help guests achieve their personal health goals. The group is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all its guests, which is why it provides a diverse range of spas to suit every budget. Ensana has over 3,000 employees and turn over of over 180 million EUR. The group is currently looking into expansion of its operations to include new destinations and services throughout Europe and beyond.

2020 and 2021 were challenging years for the hospitality industry due to the global pandemics of covid 19. We had to close all our hotels and no guests were allowed back until the 2021 when medical patients could slowly return. The pandemics also meant the end to spa tourism which is only now slowly on the rebound. We believe that the biggest achievement we could aim for during these challenging times was to take care of our employees and help them cope with the difficult situation. We set up online working groups, ran online initiatives and suppoted employees with psychological consultations. We are proud to state that the results we got from a company covid 19 survey we ran were very positive with over 85 percent of employees stating that they were very happy with the way the company took care of them. Our medical team also didn't waste any time and set up the Respiratory Recovery Programme for those who have suffered with Covid-19 or other respiratory illnesses, includes a unique method for supporting immune health using a combination of local natural healing resources, medical expertise, and traditional spa treatments. For this program, we have received an European Spas Association award.

Ensana was established only in 2019 and achieved to quickly become the largest operator of health spa hotels in Europe. At the moment, we are considered to be the category leader and we help the industry to move forward in terms of management, services and trends. The health spa sector is mostly inhabitted by small and / or family ran companies and we bring larger business perspective into this growing segment. Our management structure and larger scale also allowed us to deal with covid 19 challenges and use the last two years for the development of our business for the future. While many of our locations have been closed over the past years of lockdown, Ensana has used the time to upgrade facilities, making significant investment to refurbish and upgrade rooms and restaurants across the brand’s hotels. The past year also saw Ensana open its first UK location, Buxton Crescent, located in the picturesque Peak District of England. A spa destination since Roman times, Buxton Crescent is a striking luxury renovation of a historic Georgian hotel, and uses the local thermal waters in its extensive hydrotherapy offerings. Marianske Lazne has also been put on UNESCO cultural heritage list. Our main achievement was that we kept almost all of our employees throught the difficult time of the pandemics.
