Nomination Title: Latin America is changing the world through technology, talent and innovation

Digital transformation is drastically improving the way we communicate and do business; however, it is introducing security threats for companies and individuals in an increasingly connected world. In 2020, Fortinet detected 41 billion cyberattack attempts in Latin America. Fortinet promotes technology and innovation to boost economic growth, poverty reduction and increase opportunities for all in a security connected world. Fortinet, as the #1 cybersecurity company in LATAM (53% market share, IDC) sought out to consolidate the largest team of experts to help guide companies through a secure digital transformation. In a market as competitive as cybersecurity, where over a million new job positions are created annually (Forbes), retaining the best talent posed a serious challenge.

Fortinet's expected business growth in LATAM, on the other hand, required a 30 percent increase in headcount by the end of 2021. To reach this goal, Fortinet was faced with the challenge of developing an aggressive recruitment and promotional program geared toward the hiring market.

A flexible, adaptable workforce: To succeed in the technologically advanced economies of today, strong and adaptable skills are required.This has important implications for Fortinet workforce that decided to include the need to embrace lifelong learning and constant skills retraining, to remain flexible, consequential and productive.

Engage people with purpose: We celebrate the unique, the lateral thinkers, the innovators and the creative leaders who have the courage to take a step forward and embrace the challenges of a changing world.

Recruitment and Onboarding, an Innovation Journey: Fortinet LATAM's HR team created a comprehensive recruitment process to attract the best cybersecurity talent in the region. A Forti-family culture based on respect, confidence, opportunity and results. Experience matters, that’s why we have an innovator and a consistent recruitment process with the company. We also created the Talent Webinars with the purpose to educate and support the community on how to prepare a resume, learn about the interviews, and position yourself in the market. The seminars had the following results: 265 Participants Registered: 37 in English, 141 in Spanish and 74 in Portuguese.

A virtual onboarding process was another pillar of this 2020 strategy, where a Virtual Hire Orientation Training program was developed in which all new hires met virtually to learn, integrate, and experience the culture that we have. Five days training with regional Fortinet LATAM leaders.

To better promote the company, the "The Fortinet Experience" video was developed to compile employee testimonials, and highlight the company’s focus on the diversity of cultures, languages, and gender, to promote an inclusive work environment.

Fortinet worked on an internal campaign to promote employee feedback on recruiting site Glassdoor. The promotion strategy included applying to Great Place to Work 2020 certifications in three key LATAM countries: Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.

Being an employer of choice: Beyond offering world-class benefits, the Fortinet LATAM HR team sought to further raise the level of internal satisfaction and retain its experts in a highly competitive market through its Employee Engagement Focus strategy. Team training was deepened for improving Sales Enablement, People Management Skills, and Leadership Skills, along with a languages e-learning program. More than 6,000 hours of training were completed.

With one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry, Fortinet LATAM is proud of its employees who have been working for more than 10 years on what employees have come to call the "Forti-Family." To honor them, a series of videos was developed and rolled out.

The actions carried out by Fortinet LATAM's HR team proved successful, with the company having increased its workforce by 25 percent during 2020. Today, Fortinet has the largest number of cybersecurity experts on its team in the region.

-Fortinet LATAM team grew by 25% in 2020, with the industry’s lowest exit rate.
-+107 in-person and remote recruitment and onboarding processes were managed.
-+6,000 hours of training were delivered to help in the team's upskilling.
-Innovative recruitment tools such as social media networks were introduced.
-A 4.8 overall rating with a 100% score in Glasdoor´s "Recommend to a Friend" section.
-A 90% rate positive from Fortinet LATAM employees, +13 countries participating.
-Fortinet Security Academy training program was rolled out in LATAM through 82 universities.
-Fortinet LATAM Women’s Network stated as a strong and supportive community that advances the professional development of the women. We embrace diversity, with 20% increase of women in 2020.
-HR efforts were synchronized with business leadership team to support the company's growth as #1 cybersecurity company.
-Fortinet was able to build a winning culture establishing a safe, diverse, high integrity, performance-based organization.
