Beta version of Infosys LeX was released in June, 2018. The platform was scaled up in 2019 post withmultiple updates that took place reguarly. Last update was released on 19th Jan, 2021.
LeX, a SaaS offering built on open-source, is a cloud-first and mobile-first, next-generation learning platform that amplifies human capital and capabilities, with on-the-go learning that can be accessed seamlessly anytime, anywhere and on any device.
LeX, was the brain-child of Infosys’ Chairman, Nandan Nilekani, who realized that emerging technologies are disrupting the talent needs today. For hyper-productivity, hyper-learning was the need. Based on this, Infosys created LeX platform that put learners at the center of learning and reskilling. An instant success, LeX reached 100,000 learners in first 4 months itself.
Learners are motivated to increase their learning fitness and benefit with the following features that LeX provides:
1. Flexible and Convenient Learning: Built-in AI powered Virtual Learning Assistant responds to learners’ queries and provides best-in-class curated content from multiple sources. Learners can access content seamlessly even in offline mode.
2. Personal and Engaged Learning: Learners can set their own learning goals. ‘Navigator’ feature helps learners to steer through dynamic learning paths crafted especially for them. Learners can take advantage of platform capability to mix content from in-house as well as third-party sources and create personalized content relevant to their personal learning objective.
3. Connected and Collaborated Learning: Through Cohorts feature, LeX replicates the typical classroom experience by allowing learners to create and share learning playlists with peers and collaborate with educators and experts over phone, chat or mail.
4. Competitive and Motivational Learning: Learners can augment their competency using ‘Playgrounds’- a fail-safe environment to practice and code. ‘Simulated Labs’ on Cloud is provided to the learners. Learners can also validate learning anytime, anywhere by getting certifications using virtual proctoring.
5. Gamified Learning: Learners can contest, challenge other learners, win badges and rise on the Leader board after completing courses.
6. Leadership and Strategy Communication: Learners can access leadership communications through live/recorded videos while leadership can drive impactful learning initiatives with insights from ‘Analytics’ and ‘Heartbeat Telemetry’ as well as keep a check on the learning trends of the organization. Managers can also set and track learning objectives of his team which helps build a better relationship.

Even before the pandemic hit, digital adoption and readiness to learn on Infosys LeX was high but after WFH it has significantly increased. Below are the statistics on the digital learning trends and their impact in Infosys.
•Over 120,000 employees have been using Infosys LeX in Q2FY21, averaging 39 mins of learning during the week and over 55 mins on weekends.15000 learners access Infosys Lex daily.
•In total, 45,000 employees were enabled on Horizon 2 & 3 skills in Q2FY21. We are collaborating with world-class universities like RISD, Purdue & Cornell, and other notable content providers for training.
•Completion of at least one training programme has risen from 56,567 employees in Q2FY20 to 91,800 in Q2FY21. (62% increase)
•Annual average for learning has risen from 3.76 days to 4.9 days (30% increase)
•Number of employees taking certification using video proctored assessments has gone up from 500 per day to 1000 per day (100% increase). In January 2021 itself, 323 employees have on an average finished 2.5 courses and achieved 1 certification.
•448,602 days of training was consumed in Q2FY21, compared to 246,347 in Q1FY20. (82% increase)
•45,902 unique employees attempted certifications in Q2FY21 compared to 33,756 in Q2FY20 (36% increase)
