ISS Turkey provides integrated facility management services in areas such as cleaning, ready meals and security to over 4,000 customers in 58 provinces of Turkey. ISS Turkey is the country's 3rd largest employer with over 45,000 employees. ISS Turkey puts sustainability, social contribution and social responsibility awareness at the top of its strategy. ISS designes projects on awerenesss in many areas such as employment of non-employment groups, women's empowerment and employment, gender equality and to develop the workforce. With the “Gender-neutral Jobs”project, ISS takes important steps to strengthen the women in business. ISS Turkey employees have a wide variety of sociocultural and economic profiles. Almost half of the employees come from a low level of education (Primary education). ISS Turkey trains its employees being a school that develops inexperienced employees with technical and professional knowledge. ISS Turkey has initiated the “Golden Diploma” project to not only contribute to the professional development of its employees, but also to raise the education level. The Golden Diploma is designed to encourage and support employees to upgrade their education level to a higher one. with this project, employees are supported to continue their school education along with their business life.

Employees who have graduated from a higher level school from all over Turkey with the open plan schools receive the representative Golden Diploma given by ISS-TR together with the school diploma they received from their national schools. This diploma is presented in enthusiastic ceremonies attended by all employees across the country. Other employees who attend the ceremony and watch their colleagues receive their diplomas are inspired and gain courage to complete their own training. With the Gold Diploma process, 790 employees graduated from a higher education level in 2021 and received Golden Diploma. While 51.4% of ISS-TR employees are uneducated in 2020; this rate decreased by 6.86% to 44.5% at the end of 2021 with Golden Diploma process. The percentage of employees without a high school graduation, which is a prerequisite for promotion in many projects, decreased from 62% in 2020 to 56% in 2021. This ensures that the project contributes not only to the education level of the people but also to their careers. Employees are satisfied by 89% of the value ISS attaches to its employees, and 95% satisfaction was achieved in the provision of all kinds of training-related support. Many companies in Turkey and around the world provide support employees for training and reimburse their training fees. The most important differentiator of the Golden Diploma is that it raises awareness of continuing education by encouraging people at socioeconomic level who would not be able to complete their educationdue to social dynamics without this process.

Career Opportunity for Employees with the Golden Diploma: Golden Diploma supports the people who cannot transfer to qualified jobs, cannot be promoted, or even get a driver's license because their graduation is not sufficient, and encourage them to return to their education. High school graduation is a prerequisite for grey-collar positions. With Golden Diploma process, uneducated employees have the opportunity to reach this graduation level and continue their careers. The Golden Diploma contributes not only to individuals, but also to their families. With the increase in education awareness, the families are also encouraged to continue their education. the contribution of the Golden Diploma process to Turkey's socio-cultural structure is also quite large.
Support for Women's Education in Turkey: Only 35% of women in Turkey participates labor force. Education level of women in Turkey is also lower than men and about 15% of women do not have any school graduation. Many of the uneducated women in Turkey, especially from low socioeconomic levels, still cannot continue their education due to family and social pressure. Even if these women want to, their families/spouses do not allow them to enroll in school, or they give up because they are afraid of the reaction. The encouragement of ISS-TR is very valuable in this sense. 48% of employees who are entitled to a golden diploma are women. While the rate of educated female employees of ISS-TR was only 30% in 2020, this rate increased to 36% with the Golden Diploma process.

Appendix-1) Presentation: ISS Turkey People and D&I Focus ISS Turkey, as one of the country's largest employers operating all over Turkey, carries out studies for the participation of non-employment groups in the workforce. It employs people who are older, disabled, has a low education level, and have never worked, and is known as the proud employer of the city, especially in small cities where job opportunities are low. With the "Gender-neutral Jobs" project, women are employed by making positive discrimination against female candidates in jobs that are normally considered male jobs, thus making a very important contribution to the empowerment of women in society. Employees are given training on gender equality and awareness-raising activities are carried out.
44% of ISS-TR's employees are women. ISS-TR has adopted Diversity and Inclusion in Society as a company policy. In this context, it attaches importance to the employment of women. The rate of female employees in ISS Turkey is 44% (World 39%, EU 39%, Turkey 28.3%) and the rate of female managers is 32% (World 28%, EU 37%, Turkey 22%), which is above the world and EU average.

As a result of all the successful studies carried out in ISS Turkey, Mari Bengi, ISS Turkey Group People and Culture President, was ranked 7th in the "Turkey's 50 Most Powerful HR Leaders" research conducted by the Economist Magazine.
