Released in May 2020, mobiEdu soon become MobiFone’s flagship platform to enter Education Technology market. mobiEdu is a socialized educational platform system connecting teachers and learners, including the following 3 modules: mSchool, mSkill and mAPI

mSchool provides a dedicated (Cloud-based) online school creation platform for organizations/businesses or individuals (teachers) with dedicated domain names and brands and content. In 5 minutes, an online school or class can be generated with the owner’s logo and name with the subdomain mobiedu.vn. Forms of course content development include Video Teaching and Virtual Classrooms. Licensed by Zoom, mSchool provides an ideal environment for streaming – classes, in which student and teacher can join in and study similar as traditional one. Furthermore, mSchool’s Learning System Management provides comprehensive tools for administrators to manage training programs, educational courses delivery, human resource, students’ profiles, cloud-based storage documents, reporting and more.

mSkill is an online video education portal, provides thousands of courses with a variety of genres, under the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) model. Student can learn everywhere and everywhen via an internet-connected device (such as PC, Laptop, Mobile Phone, Tablet…). Beyond curriculum-based content (like mathematics, physics, literatures…), K-12 students can find thousand qualified videos on mSkill teaching languages, Microsoft office, technology, arts, sports and soft-skills, which are designed for different ages, from pre-school to university students. Furthermore, K-12 students can find a number of market-leading websites and apps to learn via mobiEdu’s API (mAPI). Providing a centralized portal with all value-added products/services in the field of education empowered by MobiFone network, mAPI brings the large amount of contents to leaners in one gate.

The unique selling point of mobiEdu is the tool for practicing before examination. AI technology is applied to understand student’s level during practicing. Recognizing the weakness or missed information in specific topics, mobiEdu will deliver the qualified and suitable multi-choice questions to students, help them to remember a particular information and understand knowledge correctly. In some important period, mobiEdu opens the virtual exam rooms, in which students can experience the real exam and earn some special prizes for the highest score members.

Covid-19 is the main reason for swift change from traditional to online teaching method. Along with Vietnam Government, mShool offered 3 month-free during social distancing period to help schools, teachers and students to continue their work without financial concern. With free-of-charge policy, mSchool has entered market with high concern. The solution has been introduced in many exhibitions hold by Department of Education, “pre – national exam” events in high school. In 6 months, mSchool has attracted 1.000 individual teachers, schools from 15 provinces and cities, 10.000 daily users (students).

To set foot in B2C market, mobiEdu (mSkill and mAPI) has launched extraordinary product packaging and price policy. It offers “buffet design” and provides solutions to manage subscriptions with conveniently integrated payment methods (telecommunication subscription, banking transfer, mobile wallet), in which the price is reduced 50-80% to the original cost. For example, mSkill provides a “buffet” package for K12 students to learn 10 different courses of soft skills, under the cost of 6.000VND per day instead of 3.000.000VND, plus mobile data included (500MB high speed data), which helps student to learn anywhere. Such remarkable low price helps a huge number of students, especially from rural areas, to approach online learning environment.

Besides, mobiEdu has inaugurated various promotion programs, such as buy package get data free, buy course get prize, pre – exam competition… As telecommunication operator, MobiFone takes advantage of broadcast advertisement (SMS, app notification…) to introduce the service to all subscribers. In one year, mSkill and mAPI get more than 500.000 subscribers across country, many of them are from rural areas. The revenue in first year of launching is about 36,5 billion Vietnamdong (1,58 million USD). However, MobiFone’s motivation is the accessibility of education technology to all of society, despite regions or income.
