Established by a former teacher couple (Fikret&Nurten Ozturk) OPET is the leading petroleum company brand that brought 98 octane unleaded gasoline to Turkey for the first time and offered Ultra Euro Diesel to Turkish consumers before Europe. Today, OPET, which has 1800+ stations all over Turkey, is one of the market leader in the fuel sector with 19.2% in white products and 33.5% in black products.
OPET, which care to focusing on social responsibility as a corporate culture and sees the projects it realizes as a necessity of its responsibility towards the society, has signed many social responsibility projects since its establishment.
With the Clean Toilet campaign, it initiated a nationwide transformation in the toilets of gas stations in Turkey and enabled other fuel companies to participate in this transformation. The Traffic Detectivesproject, it raised public awareness about safe driving and the use of seat belts, and became a pioneer in the employment of women at fuel stations with the Women's Power project.
OPET has created a big change with the “Respect to History Project”, in Çanakkale Gallipoli Peninsula, which was of great importance in the establishment of the modern Turkish Republic and which is also known for the famous Trojan wars in world history.
OPET initiated the "Tevfikiye Archeo-Village" project, which includes the physical and social change of Tevfikiye Village, which stands out with its historical, mythological, cultural and natural beauties and is the closest settlement to the Troy ruins, in the "2018 International Troya Year".

With the "Tevfikiye Arkeoköy" project, Tevfikiye Village, the last village where the Trojans lived, has been turned into an archaeo-village with the atmosphere, buildings, figures, historical and mythological values that maintain the heritage of Troya era.
After transforming Tevfikiye into an Archaeo-village, OPET initiated another Project and transformed the Ciplak Village, which is considered the starting point of the discovery of Troy, into an Ethno-village in 2021.
OPET Ethno-Village Project aims to support the promotion of historically important Troy to the world, to highlight the local and historical features of the region from the past to the present, and to increase the quality of the service offered by Ciplak Village to international visitors.
The concept of "ethno-village" formed the main axis of the studies carried out in the Çıplak Village, which reflects the different historical and cultural layers of Anatolia. The OPET Ethno-village project is the only project in Turkey that brings together museums, ruins, culture-history and still-living villages in Turkey. The project was designed to reflect the ethno-cultural heritage of Çıplak Village, which contains elements, textures and stories from all layers that represent the cultural heritage of the Anatolian tradition.
During the Troy excavations, which is accepted as the beginning of the science of archeology, since the 17th century, the archeology studies that started with Schliemann and the relationship of subsequent archaeologists with Çıplak Village was emphasized. At the same time, narratives conceptualized with the title of "living history" and focusing on agricultural culture were included.

Regional Development and Training: OPET also carried out activities in Ciplak-Etho-village for the people of the region to achieve economic prosperity. In addition to providing the establishment of rest areas such as restaurants, hostels, shopping points, toilets that will serve the tourists, OPET also trained the people in tourism, service, hygiene and even in English so that they can communicate with foreign tourists, reaching a total training hours of 1.320.
Traditional handicrafts and different business areas were introduced to the public through various courses opened, and Tevfikiye and Ciplak Ethno-Village became the center where tourists can shop for traditional Trojan culture products and the region's agricultural products.
Environmental Effects: Through the Ethnovillage project, the village turned from being an agricultural village to a historical and cultural village that brings the value of being near to the Ancient City of Troy, by emphasizing the starting point of the archeology adventure in Anatolia. At the same time, agricultural and other historical elements of the village were highlighted. The Ethnovillage Çıplak Project is the only project in Turkey that brings together museums, ruins, culture-history and still-living villages in Turkey, making it a touristic point of interest.
Sustainability: OPET's 20-year experience in social responsibility projects has contributed to the sustainability of the Ethnovillage Çıplak Project. OPET plans several communication and PR campaign to make the village a living project. Press communication, documentaries describing the transformation in the village, social and local media communication events held at the Troy Museum, contributed greatly to sustainability.

The dreams, hopes and ties of the Tevfikiyeliler, who are the "Last Trojans" in the lands of Troy, which consists of 11 layers and hosts many states, communities and legends, were immortalized in the documentary "Troy’s Story" in 2019 through interviews.
Documentary was prepared in 3 episodes of 12 minutes each.
Chapter 1- The Legend of Troy: The history of the region, the legend of Troy and Homer are told by scientists, historians and archaeologists working in the region.
Chapter 2. The Last Trojans: The story of the people living in the region and the establishment of the village is told.
Chapter 3 - The Archeo-Village: The transformation of the last Trojan Tevkifiye Village into an Archeovillage, the work done and the adventures of the villagers are explained.

The respect for history project started with the redesign of Tevfikiye-Archeovillage to highlight its historical texture, and continued with the conversion of Çıplak Village, another village near Tevfikiye, into Ethnovillage.
