Refex group started in 2002. The refrigerant gas business was the first and there has been no looking since then. We ventured into Solar Business in 2008. We have completed prestigious solar projects and we are a preferred renewable energy partner for Indian Railways. To date, we have completed more than 1 GW of Solar Power Plants in EPC mode. We are doing O&M of 500 MW of solar projects. Refex started with the Solar EPC business in 2008 and ventured into the Solar IPP business in 2016. We are executing the first-of-its-kind solar project in the country with the Indian Railways to directly feed solar power into the Traction lines. Our solar portfolio with Indian Railways has a capacity of 6.2MWp. Also, Refex is actively involved with Railways to explore various options for Railways to reach Carbon Net-Zero by 2030. Our major highlight is the battery storage project at Ladakh where our army will be self-sufficient in their power needs, especially during winter, and remove the use of diesel and kerosene. The carbon dioxide reduction is expected to be 3280 tons per year! Refex has also invested in the healthcare segment and funds start-ups.

Since 2020 we have commissioned 35 projects across 8 states in India. We are also in the advanced stage of commissioning the following two prestigious projects:
1) We are developing another project for Railways at Bhilai which will be commissioned by end of May this year. This will generate 68 MWp.
2) Our major highlight is the battery storage project at Ladakh This solar plus battery project is also at the highest altitude in India.
On Power trading, Refex Group has worked extensively across several states in the power trading business. It is also a category I license holder power trading company. Refex has made inroads into multiple new states for its operations too. Based on its track record, it is also considered one of the top 10 power traders in India.
Refex Group was also adjudged as a top supplier in Uttar Pradesh where it supplied to nearly 30 consumers serving a quantum of around 60-70 MW on Round the Clock basis. Refex Group has created a disruption in the Indian medical diagnostic and imaging segment by frugal innovation in products. The team is making such products affordable and accessible to the tier 2 and 3 cities' customers and other emerging global markets. During the second wave of Covid-19, the team supplied oxygen concentrators while India was under stress for requirements for oxygen supply. In early 2022, Refex Group acquired Cura Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen the production capability.

Developing solar projects feeding renewable energy to traction requires a bit of complex designing of plants. As railway load which is not fixed like for projects supplying solar power to DISCOMs. The railway needs solar energy generated from projects connected to the traction substation should be utilized within the substation and should not be exported to the national grid. For solar plus battery storage project for the Indian Army at Ladakh is challenging from the weather and location point of view. Very few battery manufacturers are having large-scale Li-ion battery design for such a severe condition which poses a design challenge. Also, constructing a plant at a high altitude with challenging access for ODC consignment like a power transformer is another challenge. On Power Trading: In a state like Uttar Pradesh, where there are multiple consumers as well as multiple traders, it was a matter of great pride for the team to be recognized as one of the leading suppliers catering to several customers.
