SuperWellness is a true pioneer in the employee health and wellbeing space. Since 2011, this dedicated team of qualified wellbeing practitioners have made a difference to nearly a quarter of a million lives. They’ve empowered employees to feel healthier and happier through delivering a range of specialist health and wellbeing programmes.
Founder Angela Steel and her team have already helped transform employee health and wellbeing in over 300 organisations including NHS England, Harrods, Network Rail and many more. Clients have access to a range of packages, delivered by qualified health and wellbeing experts, including:
The SuperWellnessChallenge: a 3-month lifestyle behavioural change programme which includes support and advice on a range of topics, from nutrition to sleep and mental wellbeing, and body composition testing that assesses improvements in employee health.
The Metabolic Kick-Start Programme: a 6-week programme designed to improve employees’ metabolic health through structured group coaching sessions with qualified nutritionists and health experts.
In response to the pandemic, SuperWellness launched SuperChamps in 2021, a one-of-a-kind community network to support and connect wellbeing champions in organisations of all shapes and sizes. The programme’s been so successful in year one that it’s helped grow turnover by a healthy 90%, to £265,000.

Pre-pandemic, SuperWellness was already leading the way in the employee health and wellbeing space for more than a decade - working with established organisations in healthcare, construction, retail and many more. When Covid hit, the team experienced a surge in demand for its services, which saw turnover more than double during the first year of lockdowns.
The real achievement, however, was the difference Angela and her team of qualified practitioners were able to make to the lives of many thousands of employees during uncertain times. At a time when many companies were struggling to retain morale:
- Employees at global manufacturing company Futamura reported a 77% jump in employee happiness, and the same rise in the number rating their health as ‘good’ or ‘very good’, after taking part in the six-week Metabolic Kick-Start programme
- Employees at accountancy firm, Charterhouse, reported a 28% rise in job satisfaction and an 18% rise in overall happiness after taking part in the 3-month SuperWellness Challenge
Plus:
- The SuperChamps programme, launched during the pandemic to support wellbeing champions in organisations of all shapes and sizes, has had a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of an estimated 10,000 employees in its first year.
- Turnover for SuperWellness more than doubled to £139,000 in 2021 and grew again by a healthy 90% in 2022.
Feedback from clients has been extremely positive, with 100% saying they’d recommend SuperWellness’ services. Human Resources Director Shirley Haines, at client AmcoGiffen adds: “This is so well worth the investment.”
- If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

Founder Angela had been championing employee health and wellbeing long before the pandemic brought it to widespread attention. After experiencing employee burnout herself in 2010, Angela was determined to create something positive that could prevent others from finding themselves in the same situation. With a vision to empower employees to manage their health and set new standards of workplace wellbeing, SuperWellness was born, landing Harrods as its first client and going on since to make a difference to the lives of thousands of employees.
When the UK was plunged into lockdown, and with demand for its services quickly rising, the team worked swiftly creating a suite of virtual programmes. In addition, it developed and launched SuperChamps, a one-of-a-kind community platform set up specifically to support wellbeing champions in organisations around the UK, when many needed it most.
SuperChamps, developed by qualified practitioners, links wellbeing champions with a huge resource of tools and knowledge, enabling them to support the health and wellbeing of their colleagues, with three levels of tailored support; Inspire, Engage and Transform.
Inspire includes regular community meet-ups hosted by expert guest speakers, and an e-learning portal of resources.
Engage includes the above, plus support to launch an internal wellbeing programme for a year, a monthly wellbeing content pack and two workplace health assessments.
Transform includes the above, plus additional webinars and workplace health assessments.
In one year alone, the SuperChamps programme has helped support an estimated 10,000 employees, and already accounts for 35% of the total turnover.
