The main users of this system are Business Unit Divisions (BUD) and Finance Centre Business Partner (FCBP) Unit. By implementing AFS for every non-connectivity project, there are some improvements in the existing business process. The implementation has both financial and non-financial benefits for the company, such as:
1. Profitability aspect
a. Enhance the control of project profitability per customer
b. Enhance the visibility of vendor’s productivity
c. Reach the cumulative cost saving for Enterprise Segment, resulted in 12% increased of EBIT margin in 2020 compared to 2019.
2. OPEX Management aspect
a. Accelerate vendor invoicing process, hence improving Subsidiaries’ AR Aging performance by 12% in 2021 compared to 2020.
b. Optimize current year budget realization by having a single database of outstanding expenses due to be paid to vendors.
c. Formulate better annual plan considering outstanding expenses based on data generated from the system while finding the best fit whilst maintaining cost to revenue ratio.
Since going live in January 2020, the projects recorded have been increasing every year. During 2020, 13,559 items were recorded and in 2021 there were 12,798 additions of WBS.
The numbers will continue to grow every year, hence shows that users have been consistently using this system as a powerful tool to track the profitability of non-connectivity projects. In the future, there will be several enhancements to make the system more reliable depending on further identified challenges.
