The business impact of delivering a fully digital sales kickoff was paramount for Twilio in 2021. Our SKO21 was intended to build connections and reinforce the Twilio spirit of resilience as we were coming out of a world where the new normal and uncertainly was a daily occurence. We had to really dig deep to design a fulfilling event for every delegate, something that would inspire, encourage, relate and connect with them on an emotional level. So we developed a customized platform to bring our four key communicationobectives to life in a Digital world.

We hosted 1900 delegates globally and ran full timezone specific sessions effectively running three SKO's currently with no difference in the programmingEMEA, APJ and North America. We provided live translators for japanese, spanish and portuguese. This was a choose your own adventure program with only Key Notes and Speakers being mandated. We offered 287 unique sessions. We hosted social events throughout the week, cooking with celebrities, customizing sneakers with celebrities, Helltones concert, magic show and playing a variety of hosted online games to ease the online environment. We gamified the experience where points allowed you to score one of kind swag from the SKO store. We hosted over 33 exhibitors and 118 roundtables. One of the nicest experiences we gave our delegates was our in platform concierge where they could whatsap, chat online or video chat an agent to get help instantly and in turn we were showcasing our own products. We took surveys for every session we ran and we scored high in nearly all categories with an outstanding NPS range of 56%-100%. We measured the success/performance of the event based on these scores:
1. NPS.
2. Engagement/Relevancy.
3. Completing Knowledge Checks
4. Attendance to all sessions not only keynote and content.
We issued gaming points to drive participation and they loved it as we let them buy swag with the points they made. (See Survey Results & Accolade in attachments).
We faced huge challenges in the development journey, but we made it real and I am so grateful for how it turned out. I did not initially believe it would be possible to give a Digital Event a Live Event feel and turn it into an exciting engaging talked about event but we did just that and I could not be more grateful and proud of my team, our supporting actors at Twilio (Presenters) our Guest Speakers and of course our events partners who helped us.

CG CreativeWe had a dedicated team who live streamed our KeyNotes, our speakers and our awards session. They partners with a vendor to help us develop our platform to host our event on and we worked with a team of their designers for creative and video work.
