Ken Crutchfield is Vice President and General Manager of Legal Markets at Wolters Kluwer Legal and Regulatory U.S. and has been with the company for nearly three years. Leading the Legal Markets Group, he is responsible for setting the vision and strategic approach with a focus on developing leading digital products. The Legal Markets Group within Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. provides legal professionals across a wide range of markets with expert content and analysis, in addition to leading workflow solutions. At a time of need and to support legal professionals navigating federal and state developments, Crutchfield and his team launched a new Smart Chart™ covering COVID-19 topics. Conceived of and launched in days, the Wolters Kluwer State & Federal Compare Smart Chart™ provided users with free up-to-date information on government actions in response to COVID-19 to areas of coverage that were critical to keeping companies in compliance with rapidly changing mandates.
Effectively guiding his team, Crutchfield led the announcement of Cheetah™ for Corporate Counsel, a powerful solution designed to help users meet and exceed the ever-increasing demands of corporate legal departments by providing a wide range of content and tools in a single package, making it the only offering on the market with such a breadth of resources at a predictable price point. Additionally, he led the development of Application Programming Interfaces to allow users to access deep domain expertise seamlessly to provide actionable content and a more efficient workflow in third-party systems.
More recently, Crutchfield spearheaded the launch of VitalLaw, the new and expanded platform formerly known as Cheetah, which features a new dashboard inclusive of comprehensive federal and state laws and regulations for all 50 states, in addition to solutions that enrich the entire legal process, actionable information, and intelligent tools. Additionally, to keep with demand and the constant-changing landscape, Crutchfield managed the launch of a new and expanded version of Corporate Counsel Profiler in May 2021, which provided law firm practitioners with a wide range of information to search and find corporate counsels through an easy-to-use, searchable platform.
Further, Crutchfield’s guidance in the pre- and post-launch of VitalLaw resulted in increasing Wolters Kluwer’s primary source content by more than 40%. Crutchfield ensured the latest launch also included empowering digital solutions, provided more consistent and current updating of laws and regulations, and more.
