Established in 1993, Zorlu Enerji has 7 hydroelectric, 1 wind, 4 geothermal plants in Turkey, 1 wind farm in Pakistan, and 3 natural gas power plants in Israel. With its high-capacity generation power, qualified human resources, balanced portfolio, diversified resources, and innovative solutions, it invests in energy security and sustainability. 100% of the company's electricity production in Turkey is based on renewables. Zorlu Enerji gathered its new technology activities under the ZES brand in 2018. It aims to facilitate the driving experience of electric vehicle owners and accelerate the movement of electric vehicles through fast charging stations installed in 81 provinces. As of 2021, ZES established companies in 7 countries in Europe and Israel. By 2017, Zorlu Enerji had become the only authorized distributor and business partner of First Solar PV thin-film solar panels in 26 countries in Eastern Europe, Eurasia, and the Eastern Mediterranean. - Breaking new ground in Turkey, it contributes to the widespread use of environmentally-friendly electric vehicles with its brand "electrip" -the electric car-sharing platform that offers hourly car rental services only with electric cars- and with ZES. It aims to reduce carbon emissions in cities. It is also a partner of the eCharge4Drivers project launched in Europe for this purpose.
- Within the scope of the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, it has 8 projects -awarded grants- in the geothermal power plants, electric vehicles, and electricity distribution sectors.
