Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey
The Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey is involved in implementing the housing policy of the Emirate of Sharjah and allocating residential, industrial, agricultural and commercial lands to its citizens. SDTPS’ vision is to plan for the future according to the highest standards and global systems, under the general layout and distinctive character of Sharjah.
In the inaugural Middle East Stevie awards, the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey won the 2020 Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in Customer Service Management, Planning and Practice for their new Land Demarcation Service App.
The SDTPS works purposefully to plan its processes and works to minimize the efforts required by its surveyors, and in turn save public money on these services by improving the performance of its electronics services. The new Land Demarcation Service App was created to simplify the process for customers and to improve the level of performance by SDTPS surveyors.
The app helps surveyors and citizens save valuable time and effort to get land approvals without visiting the SDTPS office with bundles of paper records. Supplemented with relevant dashboards for administration and live status of surveys, the application helps to identify and address major hurdles in real time.
So far, over 1700 contractors and more than 280,000 land owners in the Emirates of Sharjah have benefited from the service.
