Nomination Title: SPI Field Sales Rep Jamila Smith Crushes Field Sales Targets, Even During a Pandemic, and Becomes Superstar Community Volunteer During Territory Shutdowns

Briefly describe the nominated individual: history and past performance (up to 200 words):

Jamila Smith is a Senior Quality Assurance Agent at Sales Partnerships, Inc., a leading turnkey field-based outsourced sales services provider.

Jamila has a long history of high performance in her more than 3 year tenure at SPI, where she has been a strong asset to her team by meeting and exceeding individual and team goals in the field both before and during COVID-19.

She is also well-known throughout the organization and by her peers for always going above and beyond in assisting in the training and development of new reps, mentoring colleagues, and looking for creative ways to make a positive impact on our customers.

Because of the value she brings each year, she has been consistently designated as the #1 rep for the state of Texas, outperforming her peers year after year.

And, despite all of the setbacks in field sales due to COVID-19 restrictions, 2020 was no exception; Jamil stepped up her field sales game in a big way this year, not just hitting but exceeding pre-COVID targets. Jamila was quick to adapt to the difficult, uncertain marketplace and was even able to outperform in the company, even amid the worst crisis our industry has seen in generations.

Outline the nominee's achievements since July 1 2019 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

The impact of COVID-19 restrictions on field sales has been unprecedented, affecting everything from which territories are safe to customer interactions.

Despite this, Jamila averaged 150% over her pre-COVID quota in all KPI categories and performed 135% higher than any other sales rep in the organization -- stunning feats, particularly during a pandemic when our ability to conduct in-person selling was in constant flux throughout the year.

Jamila’s reputation with customers is equally impressive. She had no customer complaints, no QC issues, and no potential policy violations in 2020.

Jamila was again #1 sales rep at SPI in 2020 out of over 200 reps and earned the coveted “Top Gun” award, which we give at the end of each year to 1 sales rep who has exhibited outstanding performance and productivity and in general made significant contributions to the organization and to our customers.

Jamila’s contribution as a sales professional extends beyond the field. During the national lockdowns when field activity was suspended, she was very active in our SPI Gives initiative where inactive reps volunteered in their communities and engaged in charitable giving until it was safe to return to the field. She was one of the most involved reps in this initiative; Jamila volunteered at MD Anderson helping the front desk deliver items like food and flowers to patients since no one was allowed to enter the building and also at Fort Bend County where she directed people to resources for food, rent, and bill assistance.

Jamila is a vital part of the SPI team and a model field sales representative who deserves to be recognized for her ability to hit and exceed her numbers during the COVID-19 crisis, to mentor and train her team members, and to successfully represent a major Fortune 100 company as their brand ambassador in the field, helping to grow merchant sales and pushing SPI over the client’s yearly quota for 2020.

Jamila’s nomination for Sales Representative of the Year is well deserved on a personal level as well. In addition to her outstanding sales performance, especially in such a challenging year, Jamila has a strong reputation throughout the organization and in the industry as an ideal team member and leader among her peers and a selfless volunteer in her community. Jamila is always willing to help train new sales representatives and mentor them along the way, to assist with sales training initiatives, and to work with less tenured agents to improve their performance.
