This year, the company has marked big changes after 10 years in the industry: it now has a new management, new strategy, and an expanded portfolio of services. Centili pivoted in 2020 from transactional business to platofrm as a service model, making the whole company more agile, scalable, and growth oriented.
It has also launched some very innovative products such as Centili Maestro (cloud based managed service platform for monetisation ecosystem orchestration and management), a digital bundling platform, and Conversational commerce - a pioneering concept blending messaging and payments.
The conversational commerce platform is developed in partnership with Centili’s sister company Infobip, a global leader in communication services. It presents a very innovative way to bring the payments into the familiar context of social or communication services, raise customer engagement and improve conversions.
With all these innovative propositions, the company has also managed to make a shift in the revenue structure, turn from transactional business and focus on PaaS. And it started giving tangible business results with proofs of concept and new clients. This is very motivating for the employees but should also serve in the industry to showcase how fintech and payments benefit from adjacent services and agile ways of work.
New product portfolio marks the implementation of the new company vision and was the first step towards the company transformation from transactional business to PaaS.
Following the launch of new products, Centili was able to transition from 100% of its revenue coming from the transactional business, towards a split in which 25% percent comes from PaaS in that first year. We expect the percentage will grow further in 2021 in favor of PaaS business, helping the whole company transform and grow.
Additionally, the innovative products, especially Conversational commerce, truly differentiate the company and showcase the need to blend financial services, technology and communications, for the experiential benefit of the end users and greater revenue potential for the companies. So far, a lot of companies have been talking about conversational payments, but this is a bold step towards the true omnichannel solution, where popular social and messaging apps can be connected with various payment methods, and the user can perform transactions never leaving the familiar context of messaging. It’s truly the future of e-commerce.
