Everyone has a unique journey through life. Some have significant twists and turns but everyone’s journey has challenges. Different people may have different experiences but the way in which each person experiences their challenges is different. It requires a different approach to feeling supported and navigating problems to finding solutions.
Katrina’s expertise ranges across such a diverse range of fields, she is equipped to guide and support women through almost all problems. Whether it be a troubling diagnosis for a child and learning to live with a new condition, managing a failing business and turning it around, or creating a space that is more functional and well-ordered.
It’s about looking beyond the obvious to find a way forward. When women seek help from psychologists, they will get psychological help, even if the real problem is simply that the space in which they function is unordered. When women seek career guidance or business help, they will get only that particular assistance from the relevant expert. Often, problems may manifest as symptoms in one facet of life (like work, as an example), while the problem actually stems from somewhere else (like unresolved trauma, overwhelm or some other non-work related area of life). Katrina’s approach is different because it is so out of the box and diverse, she can better find a real solution by getting to the root of the problem.
Katrina Wurm coaches and supports women who expected one thing and got another. With a background in psychology, counseling, business, human resources management and industrial relations, she’s equipped with an incredible range of insights that enable her to provide sound guidance, even in the most complex situations.
Katrina’s work goes beyond paid coaching. She has a child that has special needs and thus understands the complexities of parenting a neurodiverse child. Her son’s school calls on her to assist new parents to the school or families who’ve received a diagnosis to navigate their new world.
Her coaching process is:
-The initial conversation
-The development of an individual plan
-Implementation and getting back to basics
She also has a 90-day program – Women Taking Flight, with monthly themes - from taking stock and discovering what makes your heart sing to how to declutter and get rid of obstacles. The goal is to give them permission to find them again; to be more than someone’s mother and live their life.
Her work has expanded to delivering talks at seminars and outside of her own private coaching. She is also an Ultimate Pro mentor coach (mentoring coaches).
All of Katrina’s clients are by referral. She developed a reputation for helping and getting many invitations to speak at mother’s groups, mums in business groups, and workshops for autism associations. By connecting and collaborating, she has been sharing her passion and helping many women. When people meet Katrina, they see her passion for what she does and that she is not in it for money; it is what she was put on the earth to do.
Another of her achievements is the balance between being there for her son and nurturing her business. Andreas – her 12-year-old son loves what she does. Katrina started this business because of him and to help mums who are going through what she went through. Her business takes time away from him. One day she asked him what he thought of her job. He knows when her study door is closed that she is not to be interrupted, unless there is blood involved. He said he understands what she does, that she is helping others. He sees her giving back. Her example has sunk in – he has started tutoring other kids in coding.
In 2019, Katrina entered the Stevie Awards for Women in Business and she won gold in her category. This was the first award she had ever entered. Last year she won a gold Stevie International Business Award for her work.
