    King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) has launched a digital transformation of its services to turn the coronavirus crisis into an opportunity and enhance the digital infrastructure of the foundation in a comprehensive way. Digital solutions that were adopted paved the way to a brighter future for the institution and established a work culture, digitalization of thinking, and service priorities.

    During the time of Covid-19, Mawhiba has implemented a methodology of digital transformation, quality control, and development to continue providing its services to gifted students. It comes as part of Mawhiba keenness to provide its programs with taking into consideration the health of the students through applying all precautionary coronavirus-related health measures in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students. The methodology included: (1) The selection of courses that can be presented on-line. (2) Determining appropriate teaching and evaluation strategies. (3) Identifying the appropriate interactive resources to accommodate activities, deepening students' understanding and increasing their enjoyment in learning. (4) Selecting the best trainers for enrichment units through the accredited standards. (5) Preparing and presenting virtual training workshops for the activation. (6)  Defining performance indicators and standards for quality control. (7) Forming an audit committee to review the resources, simulation programs, and videos uploaded on the Mawhiba e-learning platform. (8) Follow-up, assessment, and quality control.

    Mawhiba also adopted some teaching strategies that suite distance learning such as Flipped classroom, E-collaborative learning, E-cooperative learning, E-programmed learning, E-inquiry, E-projects, and E-scientific trips. In addition to the use of supporting tools to ensure student interaction: Interactive multimedia, Simulation programs, Virtual labs, Referendum and voting or survey and voting, Short questions, Panel discussions.

    Since the pandemic first occurred Mawhiba has provided its services to +10000 students in 2020 and +11000 students in 2021. As a result, Mawhiba students represented Saudi Arabia in international scientific competitions and won 57 medals in 2020 and 52 medals in 2021. They also won 96 awards in The National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity 2021, and 8 international grand awards in the International Science and Engineering Fair 2021.
