    Introduction to DRM-AIS:

In Reference to Al Dhafrah Region Municipality Technological development and future foresight and prepare the pre-plans for better communities’ services, DRM has invented AI distortion inspection by Vehicle-mounted camera linked to a continuous learning artificial intelligence system. The camera sends the images directly to a specialized AI image analysis system, provides information related to these images, classifies them according to their contents, and sends them to back-offices for review and approval. In that case reducing the presence of inspectors in the fields and speeding up daily inspection routine

    Why we develop DRM-AIS:

    • Inspectors have a lot of mistakes to label the distortions

    • In the very hot summer, the inspection can't move easily under the day sun, and this will reduce the distortion collection over the time

    • Inspectors looking for only distortions and there is a lot of street asset can be counted but the time of inspector daily routine is limited

    • Inspectors need to have many training courses to keep aware about distortions

    DRM-AIS Features:

    • Automatic detection of City distortions.

    • Proactive reporting.

    • Reducing routine inspection time.

    • Creating heat maps that help in detect City distortions easily.

    • Ability to count City and Street Asset and identify the missing ones.

    • Ability to detect and issue violations and warnings.

    • Filtering repeated damages reported and addressing them.

    DRM-AIS Outcome:

The project tested to evaluate the output that will be achieved by applying the AI and automated inspection compare to the daily inspection routine done by human.

    - The Artificial Intelligence Inspection was able to complete its inspection Routine of 10 km in 8 minutes, and counted 1003 road assets on both sides of the roads and detected 46 City distortions. No inspector was involved to this case.

    - While two inspectors’ Employee made the same tour, driving the same distance within 4 hours, and they were unable to detect any of the Road assets, and they only detect 7 distortions

    DRM-AIS in work:

The System achieve a very accuracy in catching and register the Distortion cases since we implemented in Jun 2020 and we now proud to:

    • submit more than 22,000 Distortion from the system.

    • 96% accuracy in calcifying the distortion. Before the Number of rejected case increased using human reported, and recurrence cases detected as a correct case from inspectors

    • Reduce number of vehicles in a daily inspection routine to 6 cars only and reduce the total cost to less than 800,000 /Year as it was 18 cars daily along with 36 inspectors in 14 hours per day, which is cost around 5 Million Dirham / year

    • Number of summer cases increased as the number of reported daily case in summer months was lower as the daily summer temperature above 50 degrees.

    • 2 inspectors need 4 hours to report a 10 KM area where as the AI project now can use only one car to report the same area in 15 minutes
