As part of its 10-year, $15B Capital Improvement Program, Metro initiated the Rockville Canopy Replacement Project to replace the platform canopy at Rockville Station. Fulfilling Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Title VI reporting requirements, large projects require careful tracking and reporting of communications and outreach campaign. The Rockville Canopy Replacement Project Communications and Outreach Report used creative design and engaging content to report these results in a new way. Improving upon previous reports that were text heavy and less visual, this report implemented several new approaches to tell the campaign’s story and help stakeholders understand the impact of Metro’s communications campaigns. Extensive creative discussions took place to optimize content organization, reporting requirements, navigation, and design to improve clarity and understanding. The report introduced new data including the addition of testimonials, QR codes linked to additional content and more graphics. This report, along with the creative process and systems used to create the report, is now serving as the new standard for future communications campaigns. Shared with over 400 individuals from 170 organizations, this document will be part of Metro’s Title VI reporting to FTA. Highlights of the report distribution and metrics are included in an attachment.
