As a professional employer organization (PEO), TriNet provides SMBs with full-service HR solutions tailored by industry. We offer access to human capital expertise, benefits, risk mitigation and compliance, payroll and real-time technology. TriNet empowers SMBs to focus on what matters most—their people and their growing business.
In 2020, we launched TriNet PeopleForce as new way to bring SMB leaders together virtually in the midst of the pandemic. Now in its second year, TriNet PeopleForce 2021—held from September 13 through 16—was our first hybrid event taking place both virtually and in-person from The Times Center in New York City. This year’s aim was to celebrate SMB leaders and entrepreneurs—the backbone of the U.S. economy—for their resilience through a difficult year. We wanted to educate them on what comes next and inspire business leaders to be brave as they evolve their teams and their business for a constantly changing future. The event featured an impressive roster of distinguished speakers sharing timely and insightful content vital to business success and the future of work. Speakers included former First Lady Michelle Obama, retired U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McRaven, former Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Dr. Lawrence H. Summers, world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, NBA superstar-turned-entrepreneur Andre Iguodala, and entrepreneur and makeup artist Bobbi Brown, among others. Many shared unique perspectives of overcoming tribulation, resilience, lessons learned and—ultimately—bravery on their varied paths to success. Attendees experienced candid conversation and insightful talks on topics such as SMB agility, calculated risk-taking, the future of work, business resilience, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), healthcare, the state of the economy for SMBs and more. The conference centered on three key themes to help attendees reimagine, rebuild and move forward for a brighter 2022 and beyond:

    • Be resilient: Sustain business momentum and set up for success.
    • Transform: Accelerate and innovate to drive growth.
    • Be brave: Use hard-won courage to push forward.

The event kicked off with TriNet President and CEO, Burton M. Goldfield, live from the New York Stock Exchange, then got underway with Goldfield and TriNet Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Communications Officer, Michael Mendenhall delivering a State of SMBs address for small and medium-size businesses. Annie Leibovitz teamed up with us to produce her first-ever video premiere of moving photographs at TriNet PeopleForce. The video was featured in conjunction with a new song co-written by Daniel Powter and Michael Mendenhall called “Brave.” Daniel is best known for his song "Bad Day," which topped the Billboard charts. TriNet PeopleForce fostered networking opportunities for participants with business leaders from across the country. Attendees left the conference inspired to reimagine, rebuild and move forward as they prepared for 2022 and beyond. This was the largest event ever executed at The Times Center in terms of budget and production. We created a much-needed spark of energy through inspirational speakers, web series and original studies and the largest LED screen ever built on The Times Center stage.
