James Dutton is the Founder and Managing Director of Nutricare Holdings Limited and CEO of Nutricare and its subsidiaries, an international health care company grounded in the successful commercialisation of health and wellness medical devices and FMCG products. He is an established and well-connected entrepreneur globally, respected for his outstanding ability to grow and manage companies from seed to capitalisation through his passion and ‘hands-on’ approach.
James has visited over 24 countries in his career, and his unique street creed, skillsets and knowledge have been gained over the last 30 years of his business career, spanning industries such as motorsport, finance, publishing, and e-commerce at a national and international level. James’ motivation is his global vision to “be in every house in the world” based on empowering consumers through sustainable and innovative product choices. It is his authentic connection to the consumer, expert knowledge in the complete life cycle of a product from manufacturing to marketing, and deep understanding of what gaps lie in the market, that in turn creates businesses for the better. James’ unique approach and point of difference is this appreciation for the impact the right product can make on everyday lives. Commercially, he also prioritises the importance of adding value to retailer categories through innovation, and ultimately minimising category duplication to eradicate unnecessary waste.
In 2016 James Dutton found a gap in the marketplace after his son had an adverse reaction to a common wound dressing. This gap turned out to be a significant portion of the global population amassing to roughly 25% of the market who experience similar reactions to that of his 2-year-old son. With sheer will to make a positive impact in this somewhat stagnant marketplace, James Dutton took on some of the biggest companies in history in pursuit of making a truly ‘better for you, better for the planet’ alternative. From grassroots starting on the home kitchen bench and then migrating to his garage, he has grown this simple concept into a global multi-million-dollar business, created one of the most recognised eco-brands of this age and helped to set the path of change for consumerism.
James champions the ‘shop wisely’ movement in the belief that ultimately it is the consumers that will steer the course of change into the future. Nutricare was formally registered in 2016 and since the business launch, he has championed authenticity with the goal to build an amazing global team. He has been internationally awarded, has become one of the fastest-growing brands with a global distribution network spanning more than 35,000+ retailers in 43 countries, in the space of 4 years. He is on the board of Frontliners and has supported hospital workers globally throughout the pandemic and cultivated an amazing work culture spanning three global offices.
