Formed in late 2020, The Biz Dojo became an incorporated coaching and B2B consultancy firm in early 2021 after immense success as a start-up podcast. Yes - you read that right... a podcast.
The team saw very early and very rapid growth as a result of the work they were doing to bring listeners rich and meaningful content aimed at personal, entrepreneurial and business development. Because of the focus on the business and entrepreneurial space, the podcast received a lot of exposure with executives and senior leaders in a variety of industries around the world. The high quality and professional production, combined with the rapid social reach of the show, left others wondering how we did it...
and so, The Biz Dojo Inc. was formed and began introducing the business world to the power of digital media. The created strategic partnerships across a multitude of industries from around the world, and now have some of the most unique B2B offerings available for content development and production. All an unexpected result of a couple of colleagues and friends sharing their network of successful friends and family, and their expertise on personal development.
Less than 6 months oldat the start, The Biz Dojo (or TBD, from here on) grew exponentially in 2021. As the digital reach expanded by over 3200% through the year and well into the six-figure category. The team also received multiple awards for content creation, creativity and production value (Gold AVA Digital Award, Gold Hermes Creative Award) and was nominated for 3 additional awards that will be determined in early 2022.
This success did not go unnoticed, asco-founders Seth Anderson and JP Gaston were featured across several platforms for their work and insights into the world of not only coaching and business development - but also in digital media and content marketing.
TBD quickly pivoted to become #MoreThanAPodcast, and began offering B2B consultancy services focused on media and podcast development, production and marketing. Incorporating the business enabled additional B2B sales, and what once started as a no-budget podcast was now taking on multiple high-value contracts. The business grew rapidly, and partnerships included not only podcasting, but also ad development, content creation, and learning platform integration. From here, the B2B sales grew by over 310% and client-base across all channels by more than 820%.
What makes TBD ultra-unique is that their partnerships are not siloed, and partnered businesses often connect for further growth beyond what TBD offers. We consider ourselves to be enablers of business, and teach our clients how to self-manage for future.
There are several aspects of the steep TBD J-curve growth pattern that are unique and significant. Certainly, winning several awards for content development within 6 months of launch is pretty phenomenal. So too is the 8 countires for which the show landed in the top 30 podcast charts, and the 6 continents and over 500 cities around the world that tune in on a regular basis. While an estimated 80-90% of podcasts failwithin the first 10 episodes, the fact that the team has managed to grow the podcast into a fully-incorporated business is, in and of itself, remarkable.
The unique approach of TBD is to enable our clients to understand and manage their own digital media. This has included free teaching from our expert audio and video editting team, training on release and marketing strategy and more. While few companies offer these additional elements, those that do charge an additional fee. Our believe is that we all benefit from high-quality digital content, and can enable better relationships through training others to be self sufficient. This strategy has proven highly successful, as the team is now actively partnered with over a dozen international brands.
The achievements the team has seen in 2021 have been both significant and unique. TBD is one of just six podcasts worldwide to receive both the AVA Digital and Hermes Creative Gold award - and the only Canada-based business to do so. The unqiue service offerings are what allowed our rapid growth throughout 2021.
