Nomination Title: Orion Wiseman, Vice President of Information Services
This nomination focuses on Orion’s contributions in 2020 including redesign of field territory management solutions, development of a tool for health departments to track Covid transmission vectors and relationships, and taking a leadership role in leading our volunteering efforts. This was done while operationally supporting our field teams to come in at 105% over pre-Covid-19 quotas while capturing $100M in revenue that would have otherwise been lost without his operational support.
Thank you for your consideration for this deserving nominee.
Briefly describe the nominated individual: history and past performance (up to 200 words):
Orion Wiseman serves as Vice President of Information Services at Sales Partnerships, Inc. (SPI) and leads sales operations. Sales Partnerships (SPI) is a leader in field sales outsourcing representing the world’s largest brands. We have won dozens of global awards and been recognized in national media - many of those accolades are due to Orion’s work.
Orion has served with SPI since 2005 working his way up from IT manager to VP of IS. Combining a background in technical sales and IS design and management, he has a unique perspective for how sales and technology interact that has helped SPI become an industry leader.
His accreditations and certifications range from database systems and design to Six Sigma to sales certifications. His broad experience allows him to lead SPI’s technology team ranging from analytics to programming and design to technical support. Orion has led a team that has won prior awards (including gold Stevies) tied to innovation and technology.
Although Orion’s contributions to SPI’s success between July 2019 and March 2020 were substantial, his work between April and December 2020 is most deserving of recognition.
Outline the nominee's achievements since July 1 2019 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):
March 2020, Orion came up with the idea to modify our existing territory management solution to build something to help fight Covid-19. His research showed that tools for visualizing and tracking vectors of transmission for infectious diseases were limited. With modest modification of our existing systems, we could build something that could fill a pressing need in the fight against Covid-19. Orion led the effort to create it - a tool called Covid QuickView that we provide to health departments at no charge.
That same development initiative became the spark for how we created a new toolset that would allow resumption of field activities in targeted areas. The ability to have multiple overlapping data sets used in conjunction with each other was integrated back into our sales tool. The resulting change allowed for us to take APIs for Covid data in real time and rebuild territories to avoid outbreaks at a county and neighborhood level.
That initiative allowed us to capture $100M in sales revenue that would have otherwise been lost due to early territory closures.
Even with this system in play, there are areas we cannot safely work. Orion led the effort at SPI to keep the sales teams on suspension active by performing volunteer services in their local communities. That initiative led to SPI staff completing more than 40,000 hours of volunteering work in 2020.

Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the nominee's past performance (up to 250 words):
Orion stepped beyond the role of a traditional operations leader and used his sales background to help create solutions for the company that others may have missed.
His ideas and leadership to redesign our territory management solution created $100M in client revenue just in 2020. The same sales operations leadership helped lead the team to achieving 105% over pre-Covid-19 quotas. By comparison, of our clientele’s thousands of partners and internal sales teams – only 10% achieved hitting quota, much less surpassing it.
Those same ideas created a tool for health departments to help combat Covid-19 through prioritization of resources. His sense of responsibility to community aided both the country but also created direct benefit for SPI. Covid QuickView is detailed in the attached document.
His leadership on SPI’s volunteering program, SPI Gives (detailed in the attached documents), helped us achieve more than 40,000 hours of volunteering time. Although that helped quite a few communities, it also had a demonstrable ROI for Sales Partnerships in reducing turnover and increasing team cohesiveness.
His accomplishments were done without losing sight of day-to-day priorities already taxed by the rapidly changing environment field sales became for 2020.
