Nomination Title: Chad Sanderson, Managing Partner, ValueSelling Associates

Since joining ValueSelling Associates in 2017, Chad Sanderson, Managing Partner, has made an indelible mark on the firm, his training workshop participants, and the sales profession at-large.

Named by ColoradoBiz magazine in its “Top 25 Most Powerful Salespeople,” Chad leveraged over 20 years of sales and marketing experience with his deep understanding of social selling and digital marketing, to develop Vortex Prospecting™, which equips clients with the tools to prospect effectively and fill the top of the funnel.

In recognition, Chad Sanderson received the Rookie of the Year award, presented by Julie Thomas, President & CEO of ValueSelling Associates at the 2017 Annual Associate Meeting for his significant contribution to enhancing the ValueSelling brand.

By the end of 2017, Chad had envisioned, produced and launched the “B2B Revenue Executive Experience Podcast,” which to this day is an ongoing reinforcement tool dedicated to helping executives accelerate their sales and marketing teams to generate revenue. He won a Gold Stevie Award at the 13th Annual Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service for the podcast’s ability to drive social engagement.

In 2018, Chad was awarded the 2018 Emerging Training Leaders Award from Training magazine, ranking in the top 5 recipients.

Outline the individual’s achievements since July 1, 2019 that you wish to bring to the judges’ attention (up to 250 words = 245).

Chad made ValueSelling Associates’ Winner’s Circle, called the Circle of Excellence, two out of the first three years he was with the company. His achievements were so significant that Julie Thomas, President & CEO, created a new annual ValueSelling award, Rookie of the Year, which Chad received in September 2018.

Chad’s achievements in the past 18 months include:

  1. Acquiring twice the number of logos in 2020 as in 2019
  2. Increasing average deal size by 200%
  3. Increasing length of contract by 3X

When asked what drives him, Chad said, “I enjoy working with people to guide, coach and help them grow and transform the way they sell.”

His impact is encapsulated in participant feedback:

“Your impact has been noticeable on a daily basis here and truly helped refocus and redirect our activities. I tell my teams (and my kids) that the purpose of life is to have a positive impact on the world around them....Chad, you’ve hit the motherload here!!” – John Sawyer, CIO, First Western Bank

"Chad, you're a legend amongst men. That was some seriously great content over the last 4 days. I have a new energy for getting this “&^*%” right and applying what you've helped us learn over the last four days." – Hootsuite, social media management tool

“Truly didn’t know what to expect but you made it not only bearable, but wickedly enjoyable.” – Workday

Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the individual’s past performance (up to 250 words = 185).

As part of a Tiger Team at ValueSelling Associates, Chad dedicated hours to co-creating an entirely new and engaging virtual training program from the ground up. He wrote the ebook, “Mastering Virtual Meetings with the ValueSelling Framework,” which is leveraged by all ValueSelling Associates and clients.

Even after experiencing personal tragedies during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chad says he feels luckier than a huge percentage of the population.

“The ValueSelling Framework shines when the human aspect of sales increases because it’s about connecting with other human beings. The events of this year have caused me to become more authentic. By being more vulnerable, my clients and workshop participants start feeling okay about their own anxieties.” – Chad Sanderson, Managing Partner, ValueSelling Associates

Chad continues to produce the well-regarded podcast, The B2B Revenue Executive Experience, facilitating conversations with industry experts for timely, insights that support sales and marketing professionals.
