In 2019, Alisha Moopen was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare. She has also been recognized for her efforts by a number of respectable publications and bodies; this included being facilitated as one of the 30 Most Influential Women in the Arab World 2019 by Arabian Business, recognized by Business Today magazine as one of the Most Powerful Women in 2019, getting invited by the World Economic Forum to attend its flagship program in Davos in January 2020, The Economic Times Most Promising Women Leaders '21 and earning a position on the board of the Dubai Integrated chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.

Alisha Moopen was recognized as one of the first woman business leader worthy of receiving the 10-year long term Gold Card visa by the UAE government.Alisha was elected by World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader to join the class of 2018. Recognising her past work in healthcare, she has been inducted into a 5-year programme with like-minded people who are committed and passionate to tackle the main challenges of the world today, with healthcare being one of them.

Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation (TLI), a not-for-profit organization that works at the nexus of science, technology and public health, elected Alisha Moopen to join TLI’s Board of Directors in 2021. Apart from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Aster DM Healthcare, Moopen is involved in philanthropic activities through several initiatives, including the Aster DM Foundation, and the MIMS Charitable Trust.

Alisha Moopen is the Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, managing the company’s operations in India and the GCC. Having joined the company as a Director in 2013, she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and development of the company, and notably spearheading the expansion of the group into new markets. Aster DM Healthcare is one of the largest integrated healthcare conglomerate with a presence across 9 countries. Alisha Moopen is a Chartered Accountant from the ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) and earlier worked with Ernst & Young.She was instrumental in launching the Women in Leadership programme at Aster DM Healthcare which empowers talented and capable female employees with training and growth opportunities, to shape them for leadership roles.She is also an active philanthropist, being a trustee of Aster DM Foundation and involved in social welfare through Aster Volunteers programme .

Bringing additional energy, passion, and sharp business acumen to the ever-growing organization, Alisha Moopen has certainly made her mark since joining Aster DM Healthcare in 2012. Since joining Aster, Moopen has helped to guide Aster through a period of evolution for the company, as well as for the healthcare industry. Alisha Moopen currently is the Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, managing the company’s operations in India and the GCC and spearheading the new project that has been launched in the Cayman Islands.

Through the Aster Volunteers programme, Alisha touched more than one million lives, across the GCC, India, Philippines, Jordan, Somali land, and Bangladesh. Whilst pivoting to digital health was a key priority for Aster, Alisha accelerated this with the onset of Covid that led to conducting 100,000 consultations, onboarding of almost 800 doctors on the tele consult platform across 5 countries within 8 months. She has also introduced additional revenue models like Home care services, diagnostics etc.

In February 2020, Alisha created the Dubai Hospitals Business Group (DHBG) – the first-of-its-kind forum for private healthcare operators within the UAE to band together and place their requests in front of the healthcare regulators as a single union.
