From his early years building power plant simulations to his 15 years managing IT projects with the World Bank, CEO Moe Goswami has witnessed efficiency challenges that could be solved through case management. Seeing this opportunity, he built up a vision of adaptable case management that has guided AINS for success since 1988. In those 33 years, our platform, eCase, now powers nearly 400 deployments around the world and our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request management solution, FOIAXpress, is the leader in the industry, allowing our customers to process collectively over 400,000 requests every year. His journey started as an Information Analyst at the World Bank. The financial institution required access to information from multiple disparate environments, databases, and departments. Each system operated in its own sphere with the data isolated, making information a laborious and inefficient process. Moe knew there had to be a better way to marry the independent systems. He began a small team and, like many early companies, balanced their job during the day and developed a system at night to answer the opportunity. Thus, INDRE, the Integrated Development Runtime Environment, began. The platform helped to gather data and create reports by running a data request across different systems. From its first modules and initial workflow configurations, the team saw INDRE could be expanded into application creation – and this was just the beginning. INDRE needed funding in order to keep scaling, and the team marketed the startup as an IT service company. This fueled development for the next generation of INDRE, now eCase®, the low code, adaptive case management platform that AINS has become known for.

It was shortly after this second generation that the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provided eCase®’s first test. Moe’s team built FOIAXpress, a solution that enabled agencies to automate searches, tracking, updating, and reporting. In a time where FOIA requests were handled entirely through paper, teams were spending countless hours trying to get the information they needed. Moe not only offered a more efficient solution, he ensured there was a service team ready to support agencies as they transitioned and help them maximize the platform and process even more requests. Moe’s insight has empowered government transparency and active citizenship as thousands more requests are processed every year. Moe has mastered tailoring his solution to a critical pain point. Government agencies were struggling to keep up with technological investments. As they tried to find custom solutions, technology advanced and quickly outdated them before they could properly procure or build. INDRE, now eCase®, offered a dynamic solution. The platform offered dozens of out of the box features, a simple UI Designer, and full configurability. Solutions could be built faster, at lower cost, and for less maintenance than other custom programs. Even more necessary, the platform maintained its ease of use over upgrades, and key applications remained linked as they grew. The platform was perfect for a constantly changing environment.

As eCase® began acquiring large agencies, more applications were developed to handle other pained areas, including Human Capital Management, Audit & Investigations, Correspondence, EEO Complaints, and more, all working to transform the way government did business. Under Moe’s leadership, AINS continues to power solutions that, through configuration and low/no code tools, can automate nearly any process. His drive to keep our organization innovating touches on all areas of development, from new and highly relevant features to himself being at the forefront with thought leadership articles published in Forbes. He has been committed to building a team of forward-thinking people who can challenge existing ideas, share different perspectives, and come together to improve the way businesses do work. In November 2021, he sold AINS to Gemspring Capital, providing the company with the funding and partnerships to continue our unbelievable growth as he transitions away from the CEO role. His career is a testament to a life of transformation, service, and dedication.
