Nomination Title: Gutenberg Technology's End-to-End Content Management and Distribution Platform

GT released a majorproduct update in November 2020 and releases updates approximately every six weeks.

GT’s content management and distribution platform enables educational publishers, certification companies and corporate trainers to author, reuse and distribute content in multiple formats (e.g., print, eBook, courseware) on multiple devices (e.g., mobile, web, LMS).Key features include:

-Simultaneous print and digital workflow. Traditional publishing workflows first authored and developed content for print and then adapted it for digital. GT has patented a revolutionary process allowing simultaneous development of print and digital content for drastically faster time to market and significantly reduced cost. Content is authored, revised and previewed for both print and digital publications at the same time, using one unified workflow, eliminating overlapping timelines and redundancies, improving overall quality, and reducing errors.

-Integrated but modular end-to-end platform. Traditionally, an organization needs multiple platforms to create and deploy content: at least one for authoring and designing, including sourcing content from multiple collaborators; another to create assessments; another to manage print production; and usually several to distribute white label products to various end users on different devices. GT’s single, end-to-end platform allows creators to do all of these from one, centralized space. Organizations can choose to use the entire platform or only the modules that integrate with their current systems.

-Advanced content reuse. Tools such as contextual and audience tagging allow fine-tuned control over how and where content is used and reused, allowing organizations to maximize the value of legacy content to derive infinite new products for different end users. This streamlines low-value content tasks, making way for innovative design, collaboration, and delivery.

-Scaling efficiency. GT’s platform features allow organizations to structure projects, content, metadata, teams, roles, tasks, and communications to instantly enjoy efficiencies at scale.

-Create once, publish to any Learning Management System (LMS): GT is the only platform with Learner Tool Interoperability (LTI) – empowering online program managers and certification companies to create content once and publish it to multiple LMSs at different universities simultaneously. The LTI capabilities give content creators more control over the content being published to LMSs and enables them to rapidly make changes and updates to courseware in real-time.

Gutenberg Technology’s content management platform has served millions of end users worldwide and is used by leading brands such as Cengage, CompTIA, and Cambridge University Press.

The GT platform reduces users’ time-to-market of digital and print products by ~50% (from 17 months to 9 months), while reducing costs by 30%. Some Customer Testimonials:
"GT and their ability to complement a simultaneous digital & print workflow allows us to produce products much faster than ever before. We’re finding more time to strategize deliverables." - JR Walker, Senior Content PM, National Geographic Learning
"In general, few platforms offer a comprehensive, cloud-based, multi-user authoring platform and distribution system in one. If so, they're separate platforms with separate license structures and costs, and the distribution methods are specific or limited (e.g. they can't output to an eBook/PDF/print format, only an LMS) ." - Thomas Reilly, VP, CompTIA
"GT was a natural fit for us given the flexibility of their SaaS platform and their team’s ability to constantly deliver. The GT platform is a catalyst of improved time-to-market and scalability." - Doug Mealing, SVP, Chief Architect, Cengage
