ORBCOMM’s CT 3000 seamlessly integrates as a comprehensive solution with sensors and applications to provide remote monitoring and control of refrigerated containers traveling on land, rail or sea, and while at terminals and depots.

The solution helps shippers to improve visibility and management of their fleets through remote monitoring of container location and status, allowing for efficient allocation of assets, elimination of unnecessary moves and improved turn times. It also helps protect cargo and prevent damage by monitoring temperature and atmospheric conditions and ensuring compliance. Costly claims are reduced as crews are immediately alerted to discrepancies, such as temperature deviations and equipment failure.

Another big cost savings is the streamlining of pre-trip inspections (PTIs). Previously, PTIs were labor intensive, requiring up to six hours per container and were prone to mistakes. ORBCOMM’s solution completes automatic PTIs while in transit, requiring no manual labor, which also allows the containers to be expedited for distribution when they arrive at port.

In addition to saved labor costs, customer value and service is improved. Customers receive real-time access to shipment location, status and ETAs with the data integrated into back-office applications for better business planning and decision making.
