In the face of skyrocketing home data demand, Qualcomm’s Immersive Home Platforms offer four distinct product tiers (Qualcomm Immersive Home 318 Platform, Qualcomm Immersive Home 316 Platform, Qualcomm Immersive Home 216 Platform, and Qualcomm Immersive Home 214 Platform) designed to deploy Gigabit-speed wireless performance to every room in the home via in form factors as small as the palm of the hand. The entire Immersive Home suite of devices are cost-effective and targets low consumer price points to grant unprecedented design flexibility to manufacturers and broadband carriers motivated to embrace Wi-Fi 6 and 6E mesh architectures comprehensively across their entire product portfolio.
In the 310 series are Qualcomm’s Immersive Home 318 and 316 Platforms, which both feature tri-band Wi-Fi 6. Phil Solis, research director at IDC, provided proof points on how Qualcomm is leading the home networking charge with the Immersive Home series, “Before COVID-19, the proliferation of Wi-Fi-enabled products in the home and increasingly HD, 4k, and soon 8k video meant an increasing focus on more capable Wi-Fi access points by consumers and service providers.
