Nomination Sub Category: Endpoint Security Management Solution
Nomination Title: Trustifi's cyber security and email encryption solution
Trustifi’s cyber security and email encryption solution was updated in February 2020 with a new, AI-powered Optical Character Recognition capability. It was updated again in 2021 with new sensitivity detection tools, retroactive email scans, and further enhancements to the OCR scanning.
Trustifi’s SaaS (software as a service) cyber security platform leads the market with easy-to-use and deploy email protection for inbound and outbound email security, all from a single vendor. Its Inbound Shield, Data Loss Prevention, and Email Encryption solutions provide protection against phishing, malware, viruses, and other malicious activity. The company’s cloud-based approach offers a far more comprehensive ability for users to alter or recall sent messages compared to competing products.
Trustifi offers best-of-breed, simplified, one-click encryption for a superior user experience. Competing solutions don’t typically have formidable outbound data protection, which leads to vulnerability, especially in cases of BEC (Business Email Compromise). Trustifi’s solution is an all-in-one tool, encompassing malware and phishing protection, threat detection, alerts, anti-virus capabilities, sophisticated filters, and encryption. Managed services providers can manage hundreds of users (or more) across different clientele from a single interface through the product’s multi-tenant capabilities. Trustifi’s solution applies complex algorithms, scans and filters, including tools powered by AI-based optical character recognition to pinpoint and “quarantine” questionable material, identifying and blocking high-risk IP addresses and assigning threat levels to help providers detect threats and reduce mediation. It also features one-click compliance for regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, PCI, and CCPA.
Trustifi applies a breakthrough email encryption strategy: Rather than have emails pass through the recipient’s gateway and reside on their server, Trustifi’s solution encrypts messages before they go through the recipient’s gateway. Sent mail messages therefore reside on Trustifi’s proprietary web-based cloud storage platform. This allows messages to be accessed and recalled or changed as-needed—even after emails are opened—since those messages are still officially housed on the vendor’s platform. Users can swap or remove attachments, or reword text for a timeframe that the sender designates. Similarly, this configuration allows the sender to remove or add recipients to emails after-the-fact, without alerting the other addressees. Trustifi integrates seamlessly with Outlook, Gmail, and other major email platforms.
Managed Services Providers favor the product’s ease-of-deployment and ease-of-use. It has been praised for its ability to deliver far more control over email data than competitors, especially through outgoing messages. Trustifi is used by hundreds of customers in markets such as finance, healthcare, and government and is focused on growing its market share. It signed with distributor Ingram Micro in February of 2020, substantially increasing its addressable customer market. Trustifi has experienced more than 100% year over year growth during the last two+ years, with expectations that 2021 will be again a record year with growth exceeding 100%.
Testimonial from MSP client: David Santistevan is president at Concentrics, a Denver, Colorado-based solution provider that offers Trustifi’s solutions to his user base. According to Santistevan, Trustifi’s approach to cyber security is “breakthrough.”
“The traditional or typical view is the use of gateways that essentially apply a ‘back-and-forth’ type of approach to encryption through mail servers,” he explained. “Over the past year, we learned about and took a different methodology and solution to our customers, enabling a more feature-rich means of protection with deeper value. In the past, for example, if someone hit the send button on an email, they’d pretty much be out of luck … We’re always looking to add new value anyway we can. Solutions designed for service providers and business customers really deserve more attention.”
Testimonial from distributor Ingram Micro: "The relationship is an exciting one for Ingram Micro, Trustifi, and the channel partners we serve together," said Donald Scott, who leads Emerging Vendor programs for Ingram Micro’s Advanced Solutions in the U.S. “Companies of all sizes and in every vertical need to respond to today’s continually evolving threat landscape. Our alliance with Trustifi provides Ingram Micro channel partners with a new means to strengthen their cyber security focus and further harden their customers’ infrastructure."
