Zen Ecosystems’ first energy management solution, the Zen Thermostat, optimizes energy use and occupant comfort at home. Zen Ecosystems saw the need for a simple and affordable energy management solution for the commercial real – including small and mid-sized businesses typically ignored by building-automation contractors and other companies in the space. Zen Ecosystems then designed Zen HQ – a platform that combines the elegant Zen Thermostat hardware with intelligent software for a straightforward and low-cost tool for commercial enterprises of all sizes to manage the worst energy offenders in a facility: HVAC and lighting.
Zen HQ makes energy management accessible by allowing busy building operators to “set it and forget it” with automated insights and controls. What sets Zen HQ apart is its ease of installation and use and an affordable price point that creates payback in less than a year. Not only is the Zen HQ platform a powerful tool on its own, paired with the Zen Thermostat optimizes energy savings. In 2020, the Zen Thermostat went through rigorous testing through ENERGY STAR and passed. Zen Thermostat became ENERGY STAR certified. The certification demonstrates that the thermostat can reduce energy consumption in a home or business by up to 19%.
When COVID-19 disrupted the world as we know it, ASHRAE announced new regulationsstating that commercial buildings must ventilate their facilities two hours prior, during, and after occupancy. This can be a concern for those commercial buildings that do not have the means to set schedules or remotely turn on/off HVAC ventilation.
