    We Kept Moving So You Don’t Have Too…

    As a service provider company, making our customers successful is our number one priority and to delivery our promise of excellence simply delivered, our primary focus is our people.

    At DHL Express UAE, we maintain a primary focus in keeping Motivated People by continuously placing them at the center of DHL’s investment. This has continued to be our key focus during and after the Covid 19 pandemic. We strongly believe that through motivated people comes great service.

    This pandemic and it’s after math posted a lot of challenges but it also taught us to go out of the box, innovate and be creative in our approaches to our People, Business & Customers. In response we said #Challengeaccepted !!

    Allow us to share how we kept, improved and maintained our staff motivation and employee engagement to keep moving for our customers during tough times.

    We focused on the following staff motivation aspects and used hashtag approach to keep it at the top of mind of 1,000 plus employees.

    #Westayedsafe – Along with all communication and safety announcements, our focus was very clear to ensure our superstars are safe while at work and going back home. We ensured all our couriers who are delighting our customers by delivering shipments on time even are well equipped with “On Route Covid Kits”. These kits included mask, gloves and a collapsible 5 liter water container with a tap, alongside disinfectant soap so that our couriers can wash their hands whilst on route before and after shipment delivery.

    For safety of our people, we have significantly reduced the size of social gatherings for the first time in the company’s history. It did not affect the way we work together maintaining the “As One” culture even while following social distancing.  We now stand as strong as ever, collectively delivering excellence with Passion and Can Do attitude we are famous for.

    #DHLGotHeart – Despite social distancing norms, contributing and paying back to society remains a key driver of the company’s culture. Through “DHL’s Got Heart”, we recognize our employees contribution towards the community (GO HELP, GO TEACH). These employees were awarded EUR1000 for their selected charity.

    #Westayedconnected – Through our UAE Express News which not only covers the regular Covid updates but shares quick glimpses of our superstars and their Insanely Customer Centric achievements during the pandemic, a message from our Country Manager “Mr. Geoff Walsh” and most importantly shares safety rules and regulations.

    #Westayedhealthy – We ensured in spite of remote working, our superstars need to be healthy with best health tips (Example – Online Counseling Hotline for Stress Management) and activities like Virtual Breathing exercise, Yoga techniques which they can perform virtually and share their pictures to show continuous commitment towards a healthy life.

    #EverydayHeroes (Rewards and Recognition) - The pandemic didn’t stop us from continuing & enhancing our Employee Experience through our Employee Engagement programs such as the Employee Of The Year ceremony, Recognition week and Appreciation week. These programs had to be slightly modified to suit the requirement of the new norm and one of the tools that supported this was our unique employee experience application “SMART CONNECT”.

    The impact of these initiatives were realized having an employee opinion score on Employee Engagement at 97%, Leadership at 93%, Employer of Choice at 92%.

    The impact is not only limited to employee experience. Our customer experience rating hits the roof. Improving our NPS Score from 76% 2019 and 85% 2020 and 91% in 2021. Promoters increased from 78% in 2019 to 93% in 2021.

    And this is why DHL Express UAE is an Employer Of Choice.
