Critical Care Company (CCC), a private limited company, was formed by Prof. Awad Al-Omari and his team at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group to provide healthcare operations solutions for the public healthcare sector during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Using innovative and state-of-the-art technology, a tele-command center was formed. The command center at first only had its tele-ICU capabilities, which helped monitor and improve outcomes of patients admitted in the ICU. However, as time went on, more innovative projects were introduced, such as the Tele-Stroke program (developed and implemented the Tele-Stroke Program which is powered by the latest innovative technology to ensure each precious minute is saved for earliest treatment of stroke patients. It has had excellent results) and the Tele-Cardiology program (which uses innovative artificial intelligence and advanced technology to reduce the door-to-balloon time for heart attack patients).

CCC was also responsible for educating, training, and rapidly deploying over 200 ICU staff in one hospital in Madinah, and over 1200 staff in total around Saudi Arabia to help serve the demanding need of well-trained ICU staff during the pandemic. The staff were deployed mainly in 4 cities in Saudi Arabia (Madinah, Jeddah, Qatif, Qassim) where the rapidly deployed staff managed and took care of over 3,650 critically ill COVID-19 patients. We also continued to provide vital ICU support and expanded our testing capabilities, offering swifter, more convenient, and affordable services.

CCC also continued to provide front-line support for the Kingdom’s successful measures to control and contain COVID-19 throughout 2021. CCC managed the operations of the main COVID-19 vaccination center for the city of Dhahran, and two vaccination centers in Riyadh on behalf of the government, administering almost 2 million inoculations during 2021.
