Dr. Fatima is a family medicine specialist with (14)years of experience. She is physician in-charge Al-Madina center Ajman and responsible physician of institutional isolation and quarantine in Ajman during the Covid-19 pandemic. (Receiving, diagnosing, treating and referring the positive cases if needed) as well physician in-charge of home isolation in Covid-19 clinic.
She was assigned as a Deputy Director of Primary Health Care Department in Ajman during the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to her duty as a Family Physician.
She took over the medical responsibility for the first building designated to isolate those infected with Covid-19 in the Northern Emirates, after returning from maternity leave only two months. It was a challenge in itself. The first pandemic, a new virus that has not been mentioned in any research paper or scientific journal etc.
On her first day in charge of the building, there were nearly (200)infected cases referred from the northern emirates, that require monitoring, treatment and taking responsibility for all medical decisions without any guidelines or treatment protocols.
With all challenges, the candidate managed to achieve many achievements during the Covid1-pandemic, as follows:
- She formed a team made up of volunteer doctors and administrators from different nationalities and sectors, reaching a total of(8) isolation buildings and institutional quarantine, which included approximately (3,261)positive cases fully under her medical supervision and responsibility and working onsite with nurses and other frontline staff to provide the treatment and medical services.
- Choosing her as an official spokesperson for the media to educate the community about the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine, as she contributed as a doctor with the work teams by covering )97%(of the priority groups of senior citizens and residents in the vaccination campaign and enabling UAE to be the first globally ranked in number of vaccinated citizens.
- She participated in "Let You Be Safe" campaign, in cooperation with NCEMA, by conducting smears in hot areas where the highest rate of COVID-19 infection was recorded, through a mobile clinic.
- Collaboration with Private sector hospitals to mange challenges related to lack of nurses and specialist as volunteers at institutional quarantine buildings.
