IFC—a sister organization of the World Bank and member of the World Bank Group—is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work with more than 2,000 businesses worldwide, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities in the toughest areas of the world.

Fiscal 2018 was a historic year for the World bank Group. Our shareholders endorsed a $13 billion paid-in capital increase for IBRD and IFC—including $7.5 billion for IBRD and $5.5 billon for IFC. For IFC, this capital increase will more than triple the cumulative paid-in capital that we have received since inception.

In Fiscal 2018, IFC invested $23.3 billion, including nearly $11.7 billion mobilized from other investors. The IFC Annual Report 2018 highlights how our comprehensive approach helped businesses innovate, build internationally competitive industrial sectors, and create better jobs. Using hard data, compelling stories, and high-quality photos of people and places that our investments impact, the IFC Annual Report 2018 displays the results of a successful Fiscal 2018 for the Corporation.
