With the number of remote employees increasing by nearly one-third in 2020, Comcast Business has helped businesses increase reliability, connectivity and security, including launching remote worker solutions like Comcast Business At Home and Teleworker VPN. With these dedicated, enterprise-grade set of connectivity solutions for both medium businesses and mid-market enterprises, Comcast Business is helping enterprises:
Equip business employees’ homes with dedicated bandwidth for remote working
Enhance security to help protect devices combat cyberattacks
Ensure seamless business phone service by routing calls from business numbers to any device
Manage network health by using more intuitive technologies
In addition, Comcast Business announced a multi-year program to launch more than 1,000 WiFi-connected “Lift Zones” nationwide as part of its ongoing commitment to low-income students by powering a combination of connectivity and security solutions for local community centers. Each community center location, “Lift Zone”, will be outfitted with a robust WiFi solution at no cost including Business Internet, WiFi Pro and SecurityEdge.

Comcast Business launched several new,innovative products in 2020 and 2021, including:
-January 2020, Comcast completed the acquisition of Blueface® – an Ireland-based global technology provider and leader in unified communications. The acquisition adds Blueface’s proprietary and fully customizable cloud voice unified communications platform to Comcast Business’s advanced voice portfolio of business-grade solutions; providing businesses the ability to communicate and collaborate seamlessly and globally.
-In March, Comcast Business was awarded a $9.3M, 10-year contract by the United States’ Defense Information Systems Agency to provide Ethernet connections to its Defense Information Systems Network across the Northeastern United States.
-In October, Comcast Business partnered with Aruba for the launch of Comcast Business Teleworker VPN. The new solution is specifically engineered to help enterprises provide their rapidly expanding remote workforces with the same secure, reliable high-performance connection to their corporate network that they have when physically in their office.
-In October, Comcast launched Comcast RISE, an initiative created to help strengthen and empower BIPOC owned small businesses hard hit by COVID-19. To date, Rise has awarded nearly 2000 businesses with grants, marketing and technology upgrades including media campaigns and connectivity, equipment, and free marketing insights with a target of 1000s more.
-In October, Comcast announced “Lift Zones”, a multi-year program to enable low-income students at risk from being left behind an opportunity to connect to distance learning at a secure local community center.
-In February 2021, Comcast Business partnered with Cisco Meraki to expand the Comcast Business Teleworker VPN solution.
Despite a tumultuous year, Comcast Business ended Q4 2020 with ~$8.2B in revenue and 2.4 million customer relationships. The company also attracted a variety of new large enterprise customers, including partnerships with the City of Sumner, WA, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Nerd Street Gamers and the United States’ Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
