Nomination Title: Jaime Cross

In 2010, Jaime Cross founded MIG Living in Colorado not long after leaving her corporate banking career to be home with her newborn son. The idea for MIG came in a dream and she immediately embarked on her entrepreneurial journey. The next morning, she grabbed every book she could find on Ayurvedic medicine, naturopathic healing, and chemistry. After a year, she had studied enough during nap times and 2 a.m. nursing sessions to finally craft a beautiful bar of spearmint oat soap. It was perfect.

MIG has continued to grow ever since, using natural ingredients such as farm-fresh beeswax and wildcrafted herbs to handcraft soaps, lotion bars, serums, balms, nutritionals and more. After initially focusing on farmers markets, Jaime expanded to e-commerce.

In late 2019, Jaime sensed a shift was needed to reach and impact the masses. Therefore, to help fulfill Jaime’s dream of a greater legacy, MIG Living pivoted to a social selling business model. This meant adopting new software platforms and overhauling existing web properties; recruiting corporate staff versed in social selling; recruiting an initial core team of independent sales reps to promote the products and invite others to join as reps; devising suitable compensation and incentives for the reps; developing new marketing collateral, and more.

The beta launch of this new phase for MIG began in April 2020, and went into full launch mode on Oct. 5, 2020. The company marked the occasion with a two-day event in Colorado Springs, Colo., involving roughly 600 of the company’s initial cadre of independent sales representatives.

First-year goals for this new phase of MIG Living were:
Increase revenue by 100%
Enroll more than 3,000Ambassadors (independent sales reps)
Add 7,200 customers
Reorder rate at 75% or better
Returns rate at .8% or better

From April 1, 2020, to the end of January 2021, MIG Living has:
Increased revenue by 300%
Enrolled more than 1,000 Ambassadors
Added more than 5,000 customers
Reorder rate: 86%
Returns: .7%

For all of 2020, MIG realized revenues of millions of dollars.

In 2019, even before deciding to pivot to social selling, Jaime launched The HER Effect®, a movement created to surround, equip, and support women everywhere as they rise, stepping fully into their journey of Becoming HER. Jaime emphasizes the Seven Pillars of a Woman:
