Nathan Miller is the founder of Rentec Direct, a property management software company that helps investors, landlords and property managers efficiently manage their rental properties and tenants. Software features include a mobile app, tenant and owner portals, the industry’s largest vacancy listing network, renters insurance, accounting abilities, e-filing tax forms and more.
Before Rentec was born, Nathan was investing in rental properties and managing them himself. He found the industry full of inefficiencies and knew he couldn’t be alone in his struggles, fumbling through stacks of receipts each month and trying to manage his properties using spreadsheets. Fueled by many cups of coffee and a passion for efficiency (and thanks to his background in software development) Nathan spent hundreds of early mornings before his full-time day job coding the very first version of Rentec Direct. More than a decade later, his passion project has grown into the third largest property management software solution in its sector, serving more than 25,000 clients managing more than 750,000 units across the country.
Nathan’s vision continues to grow as he regularly leads advancements in Rentec’s client experience, product innovation and software technology. Over the years, he has built Rentec on his own time and invested his own money, making Rentec 100% organically grown and completely debt-free today. This growth has led to Rentec being recognized on the prestigious Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies for the fifth consecutive year with a three year growth revenue of 136%. Rentec has maintained over a 30% year-over-year growth rate, while competitors in the industry are averaging 24% year-over-year growth.
